This full mouth reconstruction steps involves a number of treatments to correct the damaged bite position as well as chipped and broken teeth

Treatment to this full mouth reconstruction varies completely accordingly to patient’s dental problem

Full mouth reconstruction improves the functionality of teeth, cosmetic appearance of teeth, alleviate dental related head ache, neck ache and other health factors like neuromuscular problems associated with improper position of jaw.

How Does Full Mouth Reconstruction work

Generally the dental surgeon will fix any bite problems first. Dentist tries to determine whether you have an improper bite alignment and if there are any such problems, will use lab work and molds to create an orthotic device.

Patient’s need for this is also determined with the help of computer scans which access your jaw muscle function

Orthotic device is worn in patient’s mouth for a period of time to reposition the improper jaw to the correct position.

This device could either be removed or fixed depending on the patients needs but in general they are not noticeable.

Once bite is corrected using orthotic device, restorations may be applied which includes porcelain veneers, bonding, crowns or onlays.

Restorations are made after taking a mold of teeth having crowns or veneers, etc., made in the lab. Once they are made the patient returns to the office and the restorations are applied to the teeth again.

This may take few to several visits depending on the restoration types needed.

Full Mouth Reconstruction Cost

Full mouth reconstruction cost varies dramatically according to the number of treatments involved for each individual and then different insurance plans may cover different parts of the entire process.

Payment plans are also available if the insurance does not cover the entire treatment cost or for full mouth reconstructions process

Full Mouth Reconstruction Symptoms

• Migraines or frequent head ache due to improper jaw alignment
• Frequent problems with chipping cracking or breaking of dental restorations
• Temporomandibular Joint Disorder
• Sore jaw joints
• Unexplained loose teeth
• Facial, shoulder, neck or back pain that may be caused by improper jaw alignment.

Only a dental surgeon familiar with full mouth reconstructions steps can determine whether if it is a treatment that would help you

Development of tooth is the complex process, involves formation of teeth from embryonic cells and starts growing slowly erupting into the mouth.

For human to have a healthy oral environment, cementum, dentin, and the periodontium are the essentials that must develop during the stages of tooth development.

Primary teeth of a baby will begin to form normally between the fifth and eighth weeks in utero and then permanent teeth will start to form during the twentieth week in utero.

Moreover if teeth do not start developing at or near these times, then they will not develop at all. Significant amount of in-depth research has been carried out to determine the processes that primarily intiate development of tooth.

It is accepted widely that there should be a factor within the tissues or the group of cells of the first branchial arch that is considered to be necessary for tooth development.

Tooth Bud

Tooth bud, otherwise called as tooth germ also is basically an aggregation of cells that forms the teeth. These aggregation of cells are derived from ectomesenchyme of neural crest and also derived from the ectoderm of first branchial arch.

This tooth bud is primarily organized into three organs. They are as

• Enamel Organ
• Dental Papilla
• Dental Follicle

Enamel organ is composed of inner enamel epithelium, outer enamel epithelium and stratum intermedium. All these cells gives rise to ameloblasts that normally produces reduced enamel epithelium and enamel.

The location where the inner enamel epithelium and outer enamel epithelium join is called to be as cervical loop.

Growth of this cervical loop cells into the tissues forms hertwig’s epithelial rooth sheath, this sheath determines the root shape of the tooth.

Dental papilla normally has some cells that finally grows into odontoblasts which are dentin forming cells. To this the junction between the inner enamel epithelium and the dental papilla determines the tooth’s crown shape.

Tooth pulp is formed as the result of mesenchymal cells which is present within dental papilla.

Another tooth bud organ is the Dental follicle which gives rise to three vital entities.

They are as osteoblasts, cementoblasts and fibroblasts. Tooth cementum is formed by the cementoblasts, osteoblasts give rise to a special bone called as alveolar bone around the teeth root.

Last entity called fibroblast develops periodontal ligaments that connects alveolar bone to the teeth through cementum

Tooth Bud Development Stages

Tooth development is divided into 4 major stages. They are as follows

• The Bud Stage
• The Cap Stage
• The Bell Stage
• The Crown Stage or Maturation Stage

Bud Stage

Bud stage is characterized by the tooth bud appearing without a clear arrangement of cells. This Bud Stage technically starts the epithelial ells proliferate into the jaw ectomesenchyme.

Cap Stage

Cap stage is the second stage in tooth bud development. During this Cap stage the first signs of the proper arrangement of cells in tooth bud occurs.

Group of ectomesenchymal cells stops its production of other extracellular substances which generally results in aggregation of dental papilla cells.

Here at this stage the tooth bud starts to grow around the ectomesenchymal aggregation taking cap appearance and becomes enamel dental organ.

Enamel organ eventually produces enamel, and then the dental papilla produces pulp and dentin, finally the dental follicle produces the supporting tooth structure.

Bell Stage

Bell stage is generally known for the morphodifferentiation and histodifferentiation that takes place. During this stage the dental organ is bell shaped, the majority of its cells are called as stellate reticulam, this is because of their shape appear like a star.

Other structures that appear in the tooth development in this stage are enamel cords, enamel knots, and enamel niche.

Crown Stage

During this next stage of tooth development hard tissues including dentin and enamel develops, this stage is called the maturation or the crown stage. Important cellular changes takes place at this time.

The development stage of tooth is an attempt to categorize major changes that takes place along the continuum at the same time it is difficult to make any kind of decision like what stage must be assigned to a particular developing of toothfull mouth reconstruction.

This tooth development research is further complicated by the varying histologic sections and appearance of the developing tooth which can often appear to be in different stages.

Tooth Extraction is nothing but a simple process of removing your tooth from the mouth.

Extractions are done for variety of reasons. Dental decay that has almost killed the entire structure of tooth is the frequent signal for the tooth extraction.

Tooth extractions of problematic wisdom teeth or impacted teeth are regularly done, as are removal of permanent teeth to make room for this orthodontic treatment.

Extraction Types

Dental extractions are categorized as surgical or simple.

Surgical extractions normally involve removing the teeth that is not easily accessible or not reachable for surgery, may be either because it has not completely erupted or it has broken below the gum line.

In surgical tooth extraction the dental surgeon may lift up or elevate the soft tissues which is covering the bone and tooth and may remove the surrounding bone tissue with osteotome or with a drill.

Process involves in splitting the tooth into multiple pieces to ease its removal. Simple extraction is the other type of extraction, normally done on teeth that are easily accessible and visible, requires only the instruments to lift up the visible tooth portion, often done under local anesthetic.

In this process using the elevator, the tooth is typically lifted up and at the same time using the dental forceps, tooth is rocked forth and back until the supporting alveolar bone has been widened and the periodontal ligament has been sufficiently broken to make the tooth loose from its original position to remove it completely.

Post Dental - Extraction Healing

After successful tooth removal, it is normal for a clot to form in the socket.

Rarely this formed clot can become dislodged that results in dry socket condition or called as alveolar osteitis.

This occurs and it is not uncommon, happens totally after the removal of lower molars due to the less supply of blood than their maxillary corresponding item.

There are some factors that adds to its development, like smoking, birth control, age, surgery extent to remove the tooth, time duration of tooth extraction site that was exposed surgically and other various factors.

Alveolar osteitis or dry socket normally lengthens the curing process and causes irritation and discomfort that is not controllable even with pain drugs.

This is treated with surgical packing or medicated gauze that is replaced in every three to four days until granulation tissue covers the bone at the tooth extraction site.

Tooth extraction dressing often contains an essential oil, derived from cloves which alleviate the dry socket irritation.

Dental Implant Basics

They’re a popular alternative to dentures or bridges, and the American Dental Association considers them to be “one of the biggest advances in dentistry in the past 40 years.”
How Do They Work?
Unlike dentures and bridges, which don’t feel or look entirely real and must be removed and cleaned outside of your mouth daily, dental implants are surgically affixed to your jaw. In place of the roots your native teeth have, the new tooth is held in place by a surgical screw. The crown is carefully selected to match the shape and color of the surrounding teeth, so it blends right in.
There are two basic types of implant: endosteal and subperiosteal. Endosteal implants are surgically attached directly to the jaw bone with a titanium post, and the entire implant structure (apart from the crown itself) is hidden under the gums and looks and feels just like any other tooth. Subperiosteal implants consist of a metal frame that fits onto the jaw bone rather than screwing into it, and these are a good option if you lack the bone structure necessary for endosteal implants.
Who Are They For?
If you’ve lost teeth due to injury or disease, dental implants could restore your smile more effectively than other options. However, not everyone with missing teeth is a candidate. Just as with real teeth, oral health is crucial to successful implants. Before you get an implant, you need good, strong bone and healthy gums to support it, and once it’s in, you have to keep it clean by brushing and flossing.
But What About Braces?
If you don’t already have your implants but need orthodontics to straighten your teeth, it’s usually best to do braces first. Because implants are screwed into your jaw bone, they will not move, which can make them excellent anchors to help move your other teeth where they need to go—but only if they’re in the right place to begin with. If not, your existing implants may need to be removed and then reattached after you’ve finished with your braces.Anand Kumarhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17337898184049406235noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31749308.post-50892258717531440942007-02-23T09:01:00.000-08:002017-06-21T10:19:47.736-07:00Electric Tooth Brushes

God!! His Breath could make you to collapse to the floor. For sure you would not kiss him if someone gave money to do so. You will try to hold your head high and quickly walk away.

After this experience, you still want to be sure that your breath is always kissable?

Do this..

Brush your teeth and tongue regularly twice a day. You can turn your tooth brush sideways to brush your tongue. By using your tooth brush you can also accomplish the same thing what you do with tongue brush.

Rinse with Listerine after brushing, water with mint is always good. Try to breathe herbs such as peppermint, cloves, or spearmint

Dental Injuries Risk Factors

Breaking or losing a tooth is more common than you might think. This case is common with people who practice contact sports are prone to experiencing tooth enamel loss or accidental tooth loss.

Your Teeth can break when they receive a fast blow and can be loosened, broken or knocked out completely. Immediate treatment to this gives the best chance of saving your tooth, if not it can make you to replace your entire tooth unnecessarily.

Things to do in the Event of Dental Injury

You should check your mouth in front of a mirror after incurring a possible dental injury to see what, if any, damage has been done. You can try to locate fragments of missing teeth in your vicinity. Should you find a tooth or fragments, make sure to only ever touch and handle the top of the tooth, the crown. Unless your tooth or fragment is visibly dirty, do not wash it. Also do not rub the tooth and leave a bit of tissue attached to the tooth. All this helps in preventing tooth enamel loss. It is always best to put the tooth or fragment under your tongue and keep it there till you get to your dentist. If this is not possible, keeping the tooth in a cup of milk is the best option.

In fact a knocked out tooth fragment or a tooth has to be implanted in its original spot within 30 minutes after being knocked out. Dealing with the injury this quickly will help the tooth to settle back into its place again.

Generally less or very less people will experience this premature tooth and if has now become common that to wear tooth protection during sports and other associated activities. Even thought a tooth might possibly be repaired or replaced, it can be a very painful ordeal.

Types of Dental Injuries

Dental injuries are of several different types such as loosened teeth due to loose gums or damage, fractured teeth and teeth can be left dislocated and displaced after a fast blow to the jaw. These dental injuries require professional care to avoid tooth bone loss.

Dental Injuries Prevention

You can take precautions to avoid losing or injuring teeth. As said above wearing a mouth guard when participating in activities like sports that may possibly be harmful can help reduce the risk of tooth bone loss significantly by wearing protective dental braces and other protective materials, supplied by sports equipment shops or dentist. Moreover threat to your priceless teeth is eating popcorn kernels or hard candy and of course opening bottles or cutting tape with your teeth can cause premature tooth loss too.

Should you accidentally become one of those people who make up the list of injuries in tooth and tooth loss injury statistics, it’s good to know what you should and should not do when you damage or lose a tooth.

Tooth enamel is the most highly mineralized and hardest substance of the body and with cementum, dental pulp and dentin is one of the four major tissues which make up the tooth. This tooth enamel is normally visible tissue and must be well supported by underlying dentin. Research says that around ninety six percent of tooth enamel consist of minerals with water and other organic material composing that completes the hundred percent. Normal color of enamel varies itself from grayish white to light yellow. If one sees the teeth edge where there is no dentin that underlying enamel, the color sometimes appears to be slightly blue tone.

The dentin color and any restorative dental material below the tooth enamel strongly affects the tooth appearance since the enamel is semi translucent. Thickness of enamel also varies over the surface of the tooth and is often seems to be thickest at the cusp up to 2.4 to 2.5mm, and appears thinnest at its borders seen clinically as cementoenamel junction.

Hydroxyapatite is the enamel’s primary mineral which is a crystalline calcium phosphate and the largest amount of minerals present in the enamel adds not only its strength but its brittleness. Generally dentin is less mineralized and will be less brittle which compensates for enamel, highly necessary as a support

Enamel does not contain collagen unlike bone and dentin but instead it has got two unique types of proteins generally called as enamelins and amelogenins. The role of these special proteins is partially understood and also it is believed that these proteins help in the enamel development as a framework support among other functions

Finding best dental surgeon is not a difficult task at all and you can easily identify them by asking questions among your friends and the area health professionals. If you still want to find a good one you can get some recommendations from local dental committee or else from a dental school nearby.

Consumer Research, that offers a set of various questions to judge a good dentist’s skill set after receiving dental treatment.

• How you feel when you bite something? Is that irritating your gum or normal..
• Are you still feeling that irritation on your gum even after the dental work?
• How does your treated tooth look like? Is that look like your normal tooth or not matching properly.
• Even after treatment does floss catch on your tooth or tongue?
• How much time the dentist is taking to polish your fillings?
• When drinking hot or cold water do you feel any irritating pain on your gum?
• Any debris left even after your dental treatment?
• What kind of instrument the dentist is using during treatment. Is he/she using water sprayer to cool your teeth?

Positive signs

Good dental surgeon will take a personal care with the patients and their health. Brushing and flossing helps to remove plaque, a substance that adds slowly and hardens along the teeth over a period of time. If this is left without treating, then slowly deposits of plaque leads to tooth decay and gum disease

It is very important to learn how to floss your white teeth. Dental surgeons or hygienist will happily demonstrate the technique of proper flossing. Flossing techniques basics are explained clearly below.

This dental floss is of different types, so only one type of this dental floss will not work all. People can select between unwaxed or waxed, unflavoured or flavoured, and tape types or regular types. Generally, it was foun that a waxed dental floss slides easily between your teeth than an unwaxed dental floss. Also flavoured dental floss always leaves a good fresh taste in your mouth and is good for those situations when rinsing or brushing is not possible. Another typical type is the tape dental floss which is thicker than the regular dental floss, the one that is preferred by people having wide gaps between their teeth.

Nowadays dental companies are trying to market this dental floss which is newly made up of space age materials. These space age materials gives extra smoothness and also very stronger than the dental floss followed traditionally. It is always good that you ask your dental surgeon to know which dental floss is best fit for you.

People with arthritis or limited dexterity easily cannot manipulate floss. They may wish to use other devices such as intra dental cleaners or dental floss holders.

Dental floss is a kind of multi sensory experience where you will have a set of flavors and choices.
